SPECIAL NOTE FROM EDITOR (By KB8NW)
There will not be an OPDX Bulletin next week and "possibly the week after". I will be attending the Dayton HamVention (HOPEFULLY!!!!!). It is totally up in the air right now.

Over the last several weeks, I have been experiencing shortness of breath. On Tuesday, May 7th, I had a "THALLIUM STRESS TEST" which showed some abnormalities. On May 10th, the Cardiac Doctor told me, or should I say she read me the riot-act, "no traveling or stressful work" until I have a heart catheterization. So some time this Monday before the HamVention, I will be at the Cleveland Clinic to have this procedure. If all goes well, I will be at Dayton. Some may remember that I had a double bypass in 2002. Let's hope I do not go there again......

"IF" I receive a major announcements, (and if I am able to) I will probably send out a special bulletin. However, PLEASE continue to send your DX information. You never know what I might do.... 73 de Tedd KB8NW

DAYTON HAMVENTION CTU NEWS
Tim Duffy, K3LR, reports the following:

"About 250 contesters will attend Contest University (CTU) USA this coming Thursday (May 16) in Dayton, Ohio.

Starting at 8:00 AM EDT there will be a live webcast available from the CTU website . Go to the CTU website on Thursday and you will see a button to click on that will allow you to see and hear some of the topics being presented live. With four class- rooms going most of the time, it is not possible to live stream every- thing, but you will definitely enjoy watching some of CTU from wherever you are. Last year hundreds of guys from all over the world got to experi- ence CTU live via the web. Some of the Dayton CTU students even sat in one classroom session and watched the live CTU stream for another session on their smart phone or laptop - at the same time - is this SO2CC? Single Operator Two CTU Classes!

Thanks to the support of the Northern California DX Foundation, if you know of any amateur radio operator under the age of 26 that will be in Dayton and would like to attend CTU tuition free, please tell them to go to the CTU home page and click on Scholarships. Or just click here:

http://www.contestuniversity.com/main/page_scholarships.html

Then use the contact us button to be considered for a scholarship. Or you can click here:

http://www.contestuniversity.com/main/page_contact_us.html

Pat, N9RV's, 'Contesting Terminology Glossary' on the CTU website has recently been updated. It is in the files section. If you or someone you know is just getting started in contesting, this is an excellent resource that explains lots of the contesting language. Here is the direct link:

http://www.contestuniversity.com/main/page_files.html

We are hoping to also live stream the 21st Annual Contest dinner live next Saturday night. Watch the Contest Dinner website for times and live stream connection information. http://contestdinner.com"

J3, GRENADA (Team Members Needed)
Harry, AC8G, is working with Gill, J39AL, to arrange a team for the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 26-27th) with time for individual DXing. Available to the team are antennas, towers, etc. for a large MULTI-MULTI contest station. About all that is needed are ops, transceivers (with accessories) and computers. Depending on team size, Gill's QTH and the local EOC would be used. Harry states,

"I will send an info E-mail with more details to those interested. You can contact me several ways, htflasher@gmail.com, 937-434-9616 or Skype using flasher-ac8g. Between the two locations (within distance rules), there are four beams already up and room for others. This is a GREAT chance to be DX and be in a major contest. The major cost is airfare. Costs on the island are fairly reasonable. This will be covered in my info E-mail. For those with Goggle Earth, Gill's QTH is at 12 degree 2.971 N. & 61 degree 44.386 W. Feel free to call - I am retired and home most of time."

KX6BB NOW ON LoTW AND CLUBLOG. Bob, W4VQ, informs: "I have uploaded nearly 9700 QSOs made by me at KX6BB on Kwajalein in 1972-1975 to LoTW and Club Log. The ClubLog link at this time is:

While this is of interest only to old timers and many of today's calls do not appear there, I wanted to provide the data in an electronic medium for future reference. It should be noted that I have NO paper cards and inquiries to that end will be in vain." He does mention: "Interestingly, I did get 129 LoTW matches for QSOs 40 years old."

Simon, HS0ZIB, announced on QRZ.com over the past week that he is now in Kawthaung. He mentioned on May 1st that he will be there during the months of May and June, and will operate as XZ1K from Tanintharyi State. He adds,
"I will only operate on PSK-31, according to when I have free time. From 1st July, I will be working in Laos, but I will try to return each holiday to re-activate XZ1K." According to his QRZ.com page, he has made 20 meter PSK QSOs with JA, VU, VK..etc., using Digipan. He suggests for you to transmit up to 1 kHz high of his frequency, and he can do a 'split' QSO. You can check QSOs and request QSLs from his online log at:
http://www.myradioclub.org/xz1k

He states on May 11th, "LoTW is not yet available. I submitted documents to the ARRL for DXCC approval and LoTW account on 30/4/13, (by courier service from Yangon), but although the package is shown as delivered to the ARRL, I have had no feedback. If/when I am allocated an LoTW account, I will upload to LoTW for requested QSLs."
