Master of Ceremonies for the Dayton Contest Dinner is Contest Hall of Fame member and World Wide Radio Operators Foundation (WWROF) Chairman, John Dorr, K1AR.

Doug Grant, K1DG, Co-Chairman of WRTC2014 will be our featured speaker.

The 2014 Contest Hall of Fame inductees will be announced.

The Contest Dinner will be held on Saturday night, May 17, 2014 at 6:30 PM Cash bar opens at 5:30 PM.

Located at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza Hotel (Official Contester Hotel) 5th and Jefferson Streets (Next to the Dayton Convention Center) Dayton (Downtown), Ohio in the PRESIDENTIAL BALLROOM on the second floor.

Seating is random. Tables are set in rounds of 10. You can purchase an entire table for your group (purchased group tables are set for 8).

OG0A; ALAND ISLANDS RAMPING UP AGAIN

Completing the first phase of the OG0A DXpedition, the initial trio led by young Mari (YL), OH2FPK returned to mainland Finland with 6469 QSOs in the books. The team provided hundreds of new low-band pointers to the Deserving and benefited from a Solar Flux high of above 200 and a K Index of zero. The operation will continue on Wednesday with another fresh trio consisting of Pertti, OH2PM; Kim, OH6KZP and Martti,OH2BH who will again put the emphasis on low bands and WARC.

YASME FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SUPPORTING GRANTS

The Yasme Foundation makes supporting grants to individuals and organ- izations providing or creating useful services for the amateur radio com- munity. Regardless of originality or novelty, Yasme supports these programs in order to further the development of amateur radio around the world.

The Board of Directors of The Yasme Foundation is pleased to announce that it has made supporting grants as follows:

1. WRTC-2014 — to assist in defraying the expenses of the World Radio Team Championship to be held this coming July in the Boston area of the north- eastern United States (wrtc2014.org)

2. Reverse Beacon Network (RBN) — to purchase a receiver and the necessary accessories to upgrade the node presently operational in Bangalore (reversebeacon.net)

3. CWOps CW Academy — to assist in defraying the expenses of providing on-line CW training courses (cwops.org)

4. ARRL Second Century Fund — to support the goals of the ARRL’s Second Century Campaign (arrl.org/arrl-second-century-campaign)
