the 75th anniversary of the victory in WW2. Length of activity is not

8C2, INDONESIA (Special Event). Members of the ORARI (Section Daerah Jawa
Tengah) are now active as 8C2WFH (Work From Home) from Central Java Island,
Indonesia, during the COVID-19 crisis until May 19th. Activity will be on
80/40/20/15/10m using CW, SSB and the Digital modes (RTTY/BPSK31/FT8).

8J, JAPAN (Special Event). Look for special event station 8J1ITU to be
on the air from Japan as of 1500z April 30th, through 1459z on May 31st.
Activity is to celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the ITU
(World Telecommunication and Information Society Day - May 17th). 8J1ITU
is operated by the Japan ITU Amateur Radio Club during the month of May
every year. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the club members will
be getting  on the air from the club's main base [as the base station is
on Japan Honshu Island (AS-007, JIIA AS-007-001, WLOTA 2376)], from Kasumi-
gaura City (Japan  JCC# 1430) and at a member's home QTH (as a portable
station) following the worldwide "Stay-At-Home" policy :) !!) QSL via
the Bureau (JARL) or eQSL.

A60, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (Special Event). Operators from the United Arab
Emirates (U.A.E.) will be active with special callsign A60FTDMC from
Sharjah during FT8DMC activity weeks (July 1-31st). Activity will be on

AT2, INDIA (Special Event). Members of the West Bengal Radio Club (VU2WB)
will be active as AU2COV from Kolkata, India, until July 26th. Activity
is to provide assistance in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic. QSL via
VU2WB. 

AT2, INDIA (Special Event). Members of the Indian Institute of Hams,
Bangalore Club (IIH) [VU2IIH], will be active as AT2GOK until July 26th,
providing assistance in fighting COVID-19. They state, "We conduct roll
call net everyday on VU2ZO repeater 145.275 minus shift at 10:00 am, 5:00
pm and 9:00 pm. On HF, 8:00 am and 7:00 pm. We monitor these frequencies
at all time for any assistance. Also to encourage SWLS we do conduct roll
call net on Hamsphere 11:30 am on 7070 kHz. QSL via direct (see QRZ.com).

AT2, INDIA (Special Event). Kaustav Saha, VU2UUU, is activating the
special event station AT2SHI (suffix Stay Home India) from Gurugram
(WW Loc. ML88nk), India, to spread the message "Stay Home Stay Safe"
during the wake of CONVID-19. QSL via his home callsign.

AT2, INDIA (Special Event). Jatin Shah, VU2KWJ, is activating the special
event station AT2TNX (Next to Ajit Mehta Hospital) in Chowpatty Bandstand,
Mumbai, to express a special thanks to all the Front-liners Fighting against
Covid-19 across world during the COVID-19 situation. Activity will be on
40/20/17/15 meters using SSB and the Digital modes (FT8/FT4/RTTY). QSL

AT9, INDIA (Special Event). Subbu, VU2NTL, will be active as AT9SS from
Kerala until July 28th. He is another station spreading the seriousness
of COVIN-19 and to "STAY SAFE AT HOME". QSL via VU2NTL.

AU2, INDIA (Special Event). Members of the Indian Academy of Communication
& Disaster Management will be active as AU2IAG from Kolkata, India. This is
a special callsign for providing assistance in fighting against COVID-19
pandemic. Activity will last until July 16th. QSL via VU2MQT.

AU2, INDIA (Special Event). Jayant, VU2JAU, is activating the special
event station AU2STH Near Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India, during the
COVID-19 crisis. The special callsign AU2STH stands for STAY HOME and
keep yourself safe from this crisis. AU2STH will be in operation up to
May 31st, 2020. It is used to spread the word to the Global Community
and Protect them from the problem. Stations who have contacts with AU2STH
will be receiving the E Certificate of appreciation for Coordination.
Activity will be on HF, VHF and the satellites. Suggested frequencies
are on 7065, 14150 and 14215 kHz daily. QSL via VU2JAU direct.

B0-9, CHINA (Update/Change in Rules/Special Event). Members of the Chinese
Radio Amateurs Club (CRAC) will activate 10 special event callsigns (B0CRA
- B9CRA) across their country making QSOs with amateur radio operators all
over the world. Operations will take place between 0000 UTC May 1st and
1200 UTC May 7th. QSL via BA1GG. Log search entry:

  This activity/event takes place every year. It started on May 5th, 1940,
where Chinese amateur radio operators started  an "On air conference". On
May 5th, 1947, the conference covered all the regions in China, it was the
biggest on air event. In 1942 and 1944, there were 2 exhibitions associated
 with the "On air conference". In recent years, the CRAC organized several
events on May 5th every year and designated that day as a Chinese amateur
radio festival, called "5.5 Festival". Due to COVID-19, the CRAC called
for all amateur radio operators "Stay Home" to fight for the Conoravirus
situation. The 2020 "5.5 Festival" was shifted to the air waves.
  The CRAC provides special awards to whose who meet the criteria below.
Award application can be sent to (cq55@crac.org.cn); indicate your call-
sign, award category and E-mail address to receive the award. The award
application deadline is September 30th, 2020.
  Award Rules: The award has three categories Bronze, Silver and Golden,
which will be measured by slots worked. One slots is a combination of a
special callsign, band and mode. For example, worked B1CRA in 20m, SSB,
model is 1 slot.
  For All Applicants:
    Bronze Award: 20 slots
    Silver Award: 40 slots
    Golden Award: 50 slots -- Must consist of all 10 special callsigns

CTU NEWS (Update). Tim Duffy, K3LR, reported on April 27th: Go to the
Contest University Web site (http://contestuniversity.com) to register
for the free CTU online via Zoom webinar bridge. CTU online will be held
live May 14th, starting at 8:45 AM EDT (1245 Z). CTU 2020 will be recorded.

been updated on ClubLog as of April 29th. The list contains 340 entities.

  This month there has been a shake-up since "VP8O South Orkney Islands"
has been dropped from the top 26 from 16th to 44th. So everything has
moved up one (between 16th and 26th) and "FK/C Chesterfield Island" has
been added to the list. Some small changes have happen: "KH5 Palmyra &
Jarvis Islands" moved from 23rd to 21st, and "KH5 Palmyra & Jarvis Islands"

EH7, SPAIN (Special Event). Look for special event URE Huelva station
EH7STAYHOME to be active. No other details provided. QSL via EB7DX,

EV75, BELARUS (Special Event). Look for the following special event stations
from Belarus to be active between May 1-10th, to celebrate 75th anniversary
of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (June 22, 1941 - May 9, 1945):

       EV75GK - From Grodno; QSL via EW4A; All logs will be uploaded to

GB75, England (Special Event). Members of the RSGB Contest Club will
activate the following callsigns between May 1-31st and August 1-31st:
GB1945PE, GB1945PJ and GB75PEACE. Activity is celebrate VE (Victory in
Europe) and VJ (Victory in Japan) Days. Operations will be on various HF
bands and 6 meters using CW, SSB and the Digital modes.  A schedule of
operation for each callsign can be found on QRZ.com. QSLs are only via
LoTW and eQSL. No paper QSl cards.

GB75, England (Special Event). Members of the Royal Air Force Amateur
Radio Society (RAFARS) are now active as GB75VED from RAFARS HQ RAF
Cosford until May 28th. Activity is to commemorate the 75th anniversary
of VE Day. QSL via 2E0NDZ (RAFARS QSL Manager).

HL40, SOUTH KOREA (Special Event). Look for special event station HL40GDM
to be active until May 31st. Activity is to celebrate the 40th anniversary
of the May 18th Democratic Uprising in Gwangju. Operations will be on all
bands and modes. Operators mentioned are HL4CCM, HL4CBI, HL4CEL, HL4CBX,
HL4CJG, HL4CRO, HL4CTL, DS4FLF, DS4GDG, DS4BZC, DS4FMG, DS4FQS, DS4GKG,

  SA-046.  Ricardo (goes by Lyra), PY7RL, has been active as PY7RL/7 from
           Itamaracá Island, and is there almost every weekend as well as
           sometimes during the week. He signs PY7RL when he is at home
           on the mainland, but PY7RL/7 when he is on SA-046. Activity
           is on 40-10 meters using SSB (on IOTA frequencies), FT8/FT4 and
           upon requests also on CW. All QSOs are uploaded to LoTW and
           ClubLog. ClubLog's OQRS is open for direct requests. NO Bureau.

OE50, AUSTRIA. Jo, OE4VIE, is now active as OE50MHZ from WW Loc. JN87dc
until June 30th. Activity is to mark the 30th anniversary of the first
provisional release of the frequency range 50-52 MHz for Amateur Radio
in Austria. Operations will be on CW, SSB and the Digital modes on 6
meters. QSL via LoTW and eQSL; paper QSLs will be sent automatically
via the Bureau. (He DOES NOT NEED YOUR QSL!)

  5K0K QSL STATUS. The 5K0K Team reports (FaceBook) on May 1st: We have
  uploaded all QSO to LoTW today. It is already six months after the DX-
  pedition, and we want to thank again all stations who called us. QSL
  cards over the Bureau were printed and sorted. We sent them to the
  central Czech QSL Bureau for further distribution.

SILENT KEY. It has been reported that Herb Schoenbohm, KV4FZ, of the
Christiansted, Virgin Islands, has become a Silent Key (SK) on the morning
of April 29th, at the age of 84. Herb has been a fixture on Topband since
the very beginning, having 160 DXCC #2 and has been active in all 160 Meter
contests over the years setting many records. OPDX and its readers send
out our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of KV4FZ. For more

SN100, POLAND (Special Event). Czeslaw, SP9FZU, will be active with the
special callsign SN100PS from Gliwice in memory of Second Silesian Civil
War, 1920. Activity will be on various HF bands. Length of his operation

SV/A, MOUNT ATHOS. Monk Iakovos, SV2RSG/A, will be active from the Koutlou-
mousiou Holy Monastery at Mount Athos between May 7-10th. Activity will
be on 20 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via SV2RSG/A direct to: Monk Iakovos
Kutlumusian, Holy Monastery Koutloumousiou, Karyes, 63086, Greece. His
last activity was in November.

UP75, KAZAKHSTAN (Special Event). Members of the Association of Amateur
Radio Services of Kazakhstan (AARSK) in cooperation with the Almaty Amateur
Radio League (AARL) and the Soyuz Radiolyubitelei Rossii (SRR) will activate
several different callsigns using the special prefix UP75 to dedicate
and celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory over fascist Germany in
the World War II. The activity is called "Pobeda 75" memorial, and will
take place between 0000z, May 2nd and 2359z, May 9th. The stations men-
tioned are UP75P, UP75O, UP75B, UP75E, UP75D and UP75A. The suffix letters
spell out the word "POBEDA" which in the Russian language means "Victory".
Activity will be on various HF bands (including 30/17/12m) and the VHF
bands. Various modes will be used (CW, PHONE (SSB, FM, AM), DIGITAL (RTTY,
FT8 etc.) as well as amateur radio satellites. Two diplomas ("POBEDA 75
Kazakhstan" and "Victory is one for all-75" are available. For more
