3Y0I BOUVET ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (Update). The Rebel DX Group (RDXG)
team reports/posted the following on June 16th [edited]: After today's
telephone conversation with the Norwegian Polar Institute, we learned
that the Institute suspends all scientific expeditions to a small weather
base located on the west side of the Bouvet island. It is very likely
that the station was swept to the ocean by "landslide".
The 3Y0I radio expedition is not at risk. We are keep pushing to get
a full budget before we set a sail again by end of the year.
Our base will be established on the eastern side of the island on the
glacier. This part of the island is not exposed to the worst western
winds, waves and landslides. We want to remind you that we have access
to accurate, current satellite photographic data of our landing site.
Dom, 3Z9DX, also has over 100 pictures from his non-radio visit and
materials from other people who had visited the island. We are really
well prepared to do this job.
Now is your turn to help or forget about Bouvet in the log.

Important RSGB Convention Announcement (https://rsgb.org/; dated June
19th): In response to the UK's continuing social distancing regulations,
the RSGB Convention Committee has changed the arrangements for the RSGB
  Convention on October 9-11th, 2020.
Instead of the physical Convention in Milton Keynes, the RSGB is
instead holding an online Convention on Saturday, October 10th, 2020.
Whether you're a new licensee or have been enjoying amateur radio
for many years, there will be a range of topics from expert speakers
that you can enjoy free throughout the day.
The RSGB will announce further details of the presentations and how
to take part over the coming weeks.

AS-152. Members of the Arctic Legends team (RT9K) will be planning
to activate the Island of Big Begichev (Bol?shoy Begichev)
sometime in early 2021. The team recently received the callsign
RI0Q for the DXpedition. Watch for update on Twitter by Igor,
           UA9KDF. (https://twitter.com/ua9kdf)

  NA-079. Operators Matt/AE4MQ, Grace/KE3G, Zachary/KN4KVC, Michael/N3KPU,
Connor/W4IPC and James/WX4TV will be active as N4T from the
Dry Tortugas National Park (Grid Square EL84np, POTA K-0023,
ARLHS USA-316), Florida, between July 21-24th. Activity will
be on 80-6 meters using CW, SSB, FT8 and the Satellites. Planned
           FT8 frequencies: 3567, 7056, 10131, 14090, 18095, 21091, 24911,
28091 and 50323 kHz. QSL via LoTW. For more details, see:
           https://hamradioadventures.com/upcoming-adventures/dry-tortugas-trip

NA-144. Oleh, KD7WPJ, will once again be active from Santa Rosa Island
between June 24-26th. Activity will be on 30-17 meters using
CW and SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

PLEASE NOTE: Since the Webmasters of the new have
decided NOT to post or dedicate a Web page to announce upcoming IOTA
operations, PLEASE send your IOTA operations information to the OPDX,
and we will post it here in an upcoming bulletin......

JW, SVALBARD. Peter, LA7QIA, will once again be active as JW7QIA from
from Spitsbergen Island (EU-026, WW Loc. JQ68) between June 27th ad July
4th. Activity will be focused on 6 meters and possibly on 70 MHz, using
CW, SSB and the Digital modes. QSL via his home callsign.

KH9 & V7, WAKE ISLAND AND MARSHALL ISLANDS (Change of plans again!).
Randy, WW6RG, was expected to be active as KH9/WW6RG from Wake Island
this past week (June 16-18th), but "due to Covid-19" restrictions on
Kwajalein Island, he has been notified by the airline that Thursday's
flight to Wake has been canceled (things have been changing rapidly in
the airline business)." He informs OPDX [edited], "I was supposed to be
operating down to Diego Garcia next week; that has been changed due to
restrictions and now I am operating between Los Angeles and Honolulu. I
should know by the 4th of July the schedule for the next trip to Kwajalein
and Wake Island again; things have been changing rapidly. Just so you
know, all of my operations International are QRP 5w SSB. As I have to
pack everything between one bag and my flight bag. I travel light, I
carry a FT-817 with an Alex loop antenna and a 6 amp lithium-iron battery.
That being said I do not do any Digital or CW operations and I'm pretty
much restricted between 10 and 40 m.. My setup works best on 20 and 17m.
And needless to say, working QRP I am normally working the Gray line. I
do this for fun I am not a contester, I do not do LoTW or eQSL, but if
someone needs a contact I am more than willing to pre schedule a contact
and will exchange QSL cards. All QSLs are to home callsign WW6RG; NO
Bureau."

W8S SWAINS ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (Update/Press Release, dated June 16th)
[edited]. Dear friends -- Due to the Covid-19 pandemic it is still
impossible to travel to Swains Island.
This means that we have to postpone our DXpedition until spring 2021
at the earliest.
Alex Jennings and the team will start planning again as soon as we are
allowed to travel to American Samoa without restrictions (such as 14 days
in quarantine).
All equipment already purchased is waiting for us in Pago Pago.
We are very disappointed with this postponement, but if we look at it
from a positive angle, propagation will be better next year!
We continue our Swains DXpedition project and keep you informed via
our mailing list, website and the social media channels such as
    Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/swains2020)
                       and
