a video on YouTube.com of both their 2021 operations to eSwatini (3DA0RU)
and Lesotho (7P8RU) DXpeditions. The video is just under 13 minutes long
and can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku4WfaJ-LvM&t=16s

6F, MEXICO (Special Event). Gonzalo, XE3N, will be active as 6F6F from
Playa del Carmen during the 2022 contests. Special callsign is to celebrate
the 120th anniversary of Playa del Carmen City, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

8B8FTDM and 8B9FTDM to be active to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the
FT8 Radio Digital Mode Club (FT8DMC) during the "FT8DMC Activity Days"
between July 4-17th. This is just ten of the many stations from all over
world on the air bearing the FTDMC or FTDM suffix to celebrate the 5th
anniversary. Some of the special event stations will not only operate
FT8, but also SSB, CW or any other Mode! Special QSL cards will be printed
and confirmed for all QSOs, and all logs will be uploaded to LoTW and eQSL.
QSL via N2OO direct, LoTW, ClubLog and eQSL. For more details about the

8P9, BARBADOS. Chris, WA7RAR, posted the following on QRZ.com, January
5th: [edited] "Hello from Beautiful Barbados -- Spending some time here
to escape the cold, rain and snow of January in Oregon. I am staying in
a small cottage overlooking the Atlantic on the South East coast of the
island. Along with exploring the many sites this island country has to
offer, I will also be including some radio time into the stay. This will
include operation from the cottage, as well as some of the 12 Parks on
the Air (POTA) designated sites that are scattered throughout the island.
My station here consists of an Icom IC-7200 feeding a quarter wave
ground mounted vertical with eight radials. Operations will be on 30
through 10 Meters....possibly some 40 Meter tossed into the mix as well
if I can convince the antenna to cooperate. SSB and CW only. I always
enjoy receiving Paper QSL Cards. Should you wish to confirm your contact
with me here in Barbados please send your card to....
    Christopher Billings
    P.O. Box 1383
    Shady Cove, Oregon 97539
Please be aware that I will be having my cards printed for this callsign
AFTER I return home later in January 2022, so there will be a bit of a
delay in getting a card back to you. For those in the U.S that choose to
QSL, an SASE would be greatly appreciated. For stations outside the U.S
an IRC included with your card would be great!
Thanks for checking out my page. Hope to put you in the log soon!
  73 de Chris, 8P9CB/WA7RAR"

C5, THE GAMBIA. John, GM0KTO, will once again be active as C5/GM0KTO,
but this time from the Senegambia Beach Hotel in Kololi starting January
12th. The length of his stay was not mentioned. John was there in 2014,
but at a different location (Bijilo). Activity will be mainly holiday
style, not a DXpedition, using an ICOM 706 with 100 watts into a half-
size G5RV antenna and possibly a vertical. QSL via his home callsign,
direct or by the Bureau. No other details were provided.

E51, NORTH COOK ISLANDS. Warwick, E51WL, from Penrhyn Atoll, reports on
QRZ.com, December 31st: Sorry I have been off air since September, had to
dismantle and shift my station to a new location from ground zero. Been a
tough time, had numerous injuries mainly due to lifting things that were
way too heavy, mosquito infestations and general aches and pains. Not to
mention shipping delays! Building a tower by myself at a new place was a
challenge but finally done, rotator is up there and 6M antenna has been
refurbished. HF antenna has been planted, has sprouted a tuner and radials
so should be on air very soon as power supply main is completed. I don't
have quite the same take-off as I had at old QTH but time will tell. At
least a Beverage is possible for 160 across the north pole. Been no in-
coming snail mail for a long time this year, so I don't suggest anyone
uses it. Paypal remains the way to go however, cards, supplies become
increased in cost so I have to increase the fee. Paypal requests for
confirmation of QSO to (164mack@gmail.com), me to receive 4 USDs, you
pay the fee. I'll send card(s) up to 3, as you request. Any more pushes
me into the next postal price bracket, add another dollar. Please specify
the date of the QSO you are wanting to verify. Anything that is unclear,
I put aside until later. And PLEASE, add your callsign at least on the
request. People continue to ask me to use LoTW, I don't. Please, paper
cards or a request on QRZ.com. So have a good 2022 year, gud DX and be
safe. I don't see its a matter of if one gets the virus, its now when??!
Its going out of control outside of the covid free countries from what
I see... Warwick, E51WL, VY 73...

FO/A, AUSTRAL ISLANDS. Haru, JA1XGI, will be active as FO/W1XGI from the
Austral Island between November 1-31st. Scheduled could change due to
flight schedule or by outbreak of Coronavirus. Activity will be on 160-10
meters using mainly CW and some Digital modes. QSL via LoTW (Free!),
OQRS (if needed) and the Digital QSL system. Look for more details to
be forthcoming.

GERMAN NORTH POLE DXPEDITION (Update). Operators Martina/DF3TS and Thomas/
DC8TM will activate Svalbard (EU-026) as JW/homecalls to start their
DXpedition between April 9-12th. Activity will be on SSB and FT8. They
will then be active from a Russian "Severnyi Polyus" the Scientific Polar
Drifting Base (enclave by RFF) approx. 80kms from the North Pole on the
Arctic Ocean where they will activate the WWFF area RFF-0176. Operators
will use their special callsigns DP0LE (like POLE) and as RA/DC8TM/P and
RA/DF3TS/P to represent the Russian flag of the camp between April 14-17th.
Activity will be on 40/30/20/17 meters using SSB and FT8. Activity from
the North Pole (90 Degrees North) - under DP0LE and DC8TM/P together
with Martina DF3TS/P will take place sometime during this time (The exact
schedule will depend very much on weather conditions) on 20 meters [14244
kHz (+/-)]. !! Activity is limited to approx. 30 minutes!! For more details
and updates, watch: https://www.qrz.com/db/DC8TM
They mention the following: The success of the expedition depends very much
from the WX conditions and the time schedule could change, updated infor-
mation on the QRZ.com page. Unfortunately, the expedition did not take
place in 2020 and 2021 due to the Corona crisis and is postponed to 2022
(3rd try).

HD8, GALAPAGOS ISLANDS (Canceled). The HD8M team that was expected to be
active from Santa Cruz Island (SA-004) between March 2-11th, has canceled
their operation until 2023. The following was posted on their Web page on
January 3rd: "This decision was made after reviewing the Covid 19 situation
in Ecuador. The team is hoping to find another opportunity to make a trip
to the Galapagos at some future date." For more details and updates, visit
their Web site at: http://www.hd8m.com

INDEXA NEWS (NOAA and USFWS call for public comments re: Pacific Remote
Islands). Hal, W8HC, INDEXA Secretary-Treasurer, sent out the following
on January 4th [edited]: Perhaps you are aware that on December 21, 2021,
the U.S. Federal Register published a request from National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
(USFWS) for comments and input regarding an upcoming new Monument Manage-
ment Plan for the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument (PRIMNM).
This Monument encompasses approximately 495,189 square miles (1,282,534
square kilometers) in the central Pacific Ocean that include the seven
islands and atolls encompassing DXCC entities: KH1 Baker/Howland; KH3
Johnston; KH5 Palmyra/Jarvis/Kingman Reef and KH9 Wake Island.
In 2019, Don Greenbaum, N1DG, was appointed as the Citizen-at-Large
representative on the NOAA/USFWS Community Group providing input on
drafting this new management plan for the PRIMNM. Don has done an out-
standing job advocating for amateur radio in this role to ensure it con-
tinues to retain "recreational" compatible use status at the environ-
mentally protected islands within PRIMNM.
This Federal Register's request for comments is the result of 2 years
of drafting that plan with input from NOAA, USFWS and the Community Group
participants. More information on that group can be found here:
  https://www.fws.gov/refuge/pacific_remote_islands_national_marine_monument/PRIMNM-Community.html
Please know that INDEXA is closely following the status of the new Manage-
ment Plan and has submitted comments on behalf of you and the nearly 1,000
other members of the INDEXA organization requesting amateur radio be
included in the new Plan. Our INDEXA comments as well as the other sub-
mitted comments are a matter of public record and can be found and read
on the website: https://www.regulations.gov/document/NOAA-NMFS-2021-0122-0001/comment
At this time, INDEXA would like to encourage interested members to sub-
mit individual comments in support of amateur radio inclusion in PRIMNM's
new Management Plan. Your comments can easily be submitted online at the
link below. Deadline for submittal is January 20, 2022. You can read the
document and instructions for submitting comments here:
  https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2021/12/21/2021-27535/pacific-remote-islands-marine-national-monument-monument-management-plan
On behalf of the INDEXA Board of Directors, I extend a heartfelt "thank
you" in advance for your help in this important matter as we obviously
wish to retain amateur radio access to these rare, remote and protected
DXCC entities.

** Thanks to the individuals who put the island/group and mode
(which is very important) on their QSNs on their PacketCluster
reports. The format we suggest is "Mode/IOTA#/Island or Group"
     (ex. FT8/OC-146/Celebes).

AS-107. The E20AX/p team, who was scheduled to activate Samet Island
between January 8-10th, had to postponed their operation due
to a Covid outbreak. The group plans to schedule.

AS-135/ Jack, BA4ALC/BA5CW, is planning to activate the following
AS-137. two IOTA islands sometime throughout 2022: Dongxilian Island
(AS-135 in the Jiangsu Province Group) and Hengsha Island
(AS-137 in the Zhejiang Province North Group). QSL via BD4HF
only direct with SASE. QSL via Bureau will be answered only
           if LoTW is not confirmed.

AS-150. Members of the Huaniu Amateur Radio Club will be active as
B4/BG2CNO from Lingshan Island, Shandong Province, China,
between January 13-15th. The young operators (all under 30)
           mentioned are Zhengda/BG2CNO, Lv. Peng/BD3QC and Lithium/
BI4MPY. Activity will be on 80/40/30/20/17/15 meters using
CW, SSB and FT8. They state, "Due to the shortage of funds,
we only used affordable antenna system in this activity."
QSL via BI4MPY. For more details, see QRZ.com.

NA-037. (Update) Fred, KB4DMQ, is expected to be active as KL7FBI
from Shemya Island until January 24th. However, Cezar, VE3LYC,
reports the following on January 2nd: "Fred has recently been
on the air on 20 and 40m. His antenna has been through two
major storms, with gusts of over 70 mph or more than 110 km/h,
and several storms with gusts of up to 60 mph. He suspects
that the current storm broke a wire inside his homemade balun,
and as such he won't be continuing to transmit until he can
take the antenna down, check it out and fix the electrical
problem that he is experiencing. In view of the above, don't
look for him on the bands over the coming days, but he will
           be back!" QSL via KB4DMQ.

NA-057. John, AD8J, will be active as HR9/AD8J from Guanaja Island
(WW Loc. EK78), Honduras, between February 12-26th. Activity
will be on 80-10 meters using CW, FT8 and limited SSB, with
with 100 watts into wire antennas. John plans on a big all
band effort for ARRL International DX CW Contest (February
19-20th). QSL via LoTW (preferred). For paper QSLs, please
QSL via AD8J with sufficient postage direct to: John Getz,
24 Stony Ridge, Asheville, NC 28804. There will be no eQSLs,
QRZ confirmations or ClubLog. Log will be uploaded at the end
of each week and right after the contest.

NA-114. (Update) Members of the Radio Club de Montceau Les Mines (F6KJS)

OC-209. Cezar, VE3LYC, reports the following on January 4th [edited]:
You already know that Agus operated as YB1TDL/8 from Karakelong
(OC-209) during the month of December 2021. Please note that he
informed me today that his FT8 activity between December 21st
and 27th was carried out remotely, as he operated his station
on the island from Manado, on Sulawesi (OC-146). Agus was not
aware at the time of the IOTA rules regarding remote operation.
During that time he made about 60 QSOs, which unfortunately
cannot used toward either OC-146 or 209 credits.
Agus has plans to operate in the coming weeks from at least
one island in the OC-262 group, which I'm sure that he will
           announce in detail before long.

OC-262. Operators Agus/YB1TDL and Budi/YC1RQZ will be active as YB1TDL/4
and YC1RQZ/4, respectively, from Rakata Island between January
15-20th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using SSB and FT8.
           QSL via HA3JB.

  SA-023. (Update/Reschedule) Operators Bob/PY6TV (CW) and RaFael/PP2OK
(SSB) will be active as ZY6A from Friars Island between January
12-16th. Activity will be on 40/20/15/10 meters using CW and SSB.
           Suggested frequencies are:
             CW - 7040, 14040, 21040 and 28040 kHz
             SSB - 7160, 14260, 21260 and 28460 kHz
QSL via address on QRZ.com direct or PayPal.

PLEASE NOTE: Since the Webmasters of the have
decided NOT to post or dedicate a Web page to announce upcoming IOTA
operations, PLEASE send your IOTA operations information to the OPDX,
and we will post it here in an upcoming bulletin......

MU5, GUERNSEY. Bob, GU4YOX, from Guernsey will be active with a smaller
contest callsign MU5E this year. Look for to be active during the CQ 160m
CW Contest (January 28-30th) as a Single-Op/High-Power entry. QSL via LoTW
or GU4YOX direct.

OE19, AUSTRIA. Alex, OE3DMA, will be active as OE19AAW (WAP-341, OEFF-
0077) from Altenburg during the upcoming 19th Antarctic Activity Week
(AAW) between February 21-27th. QSL via OE3DMA.

S7, SEYCHELLES (New YL Op). On January 6th, a new YL operator from Anse
Etoile, Mahe Island, was listed on QRZ.com: Beverly "Beverly" Marcelin,
S79BMK. She posted the following: "Hello, I am new to the radio hobby and
still learning a lot. I am a foundation license passed in Seychelles via
remote RSGB system, thanks to local radio club (www.sara.sc) and supportive
members with SMA (Seychelles Maritime Academy) lending the venue. I am a
very occasional radio operator and if it happens you QSO with me it's like
having New-Year Eve and Easter the same day ;) I am looking forward to more
QRV and good luck to all in 2022." QSL info will be posted soon. Picture
is available on QRZ.com (https://cdn-bio.qrz.com/k/s79bmk/abc1a.jpg).
