"How Do I Qualify to Receive the 2006 DXCC Yearbook?" by Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Branch Manager (dated November 15th):
End of the Calendar Year - Reminder...
"In order to receive a copy of the 2006 DXCC Yearbook at no cost, you must have made at least one DXCC submission for the year 2006, and it must be/have been postmarked by December 31, 2006. This is also the date on which the DXCC Challenge standings will be based for the Yearbook. In order to receive the free copy of the Yearbook you must be an ARRL member and have made a DXCC submission during the 2006 calendar year,

You must be an ARRL member and be current on the DXCC Honor Roll. If you are an ARRL member and current on the DXCC Honor Roll, you will receive a copy of the Yearbook even if you did not make a DXCC submission during the year.

Operator Wil, DJ7AA, will be active as HP1/DJ7AA during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m) entry. QSL via DJ7AA by the Bureau.

IOTA NEWS
AS-126. An International group of operators, namely Champ/E21EIC (Team leader), Dej/E21YDP, Bruce/AA4XR/HS0ZCY and Alex/ UT5UY will operate mainly as E21EIC/P from one of the most wanted Thailand IOTAs - Lipe Island, in the Malay Peninsula South West Group, between December 5-12th. Also, operators will use their own Thai callsigns. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB and the digital modes. QSL via their home callsigns.

AS-150. Look for operators Kevin/BA4XA, Roy/BA4VE, Zhang/BD3APX, Zhang/BD4IXA, BG4VES and Chang/BG6IQD to be active as BI4N from Linshan Island, December 6-10th. Activity will be on all HF bands, using a Kenwood TS480HX, TS450s, 2 element 40m yagi, 4 element triband yagi and 30m vertical. QSL via BA4XA, driect only.

NA-034. Operators Chris/K8QV, Jim/N4AAC, Rick/KG4MRH, Tracy/KG4MRG, Mike/N4MAA and Mike/AI4JD will active as W4A for the first activation of the Terria Verde lighthouse (ARLHS USA-1335) located on Cunningham Key (USi FL-284S, Pinellas County), Florida. Activity will be between December 8-11th on the following suggested SSB frequencies: 3875, 7235, 14310 and 21330 kHz. QSL via K8CXM (QRZ.com).

NA-110. Rich, K4FCP, willl be active as K4FCP/p from Hunting Island, December 27-30th. Activity will be on 20/15 meters. QSL via K4BMS (QRZ.com).

SA-023. Cris, PY7GK, will be active as ZY6GK from Itaparica Island, December 27-30th. Activity will be mainly 20/15/10 meters CW/SSB, and possibly 40/30 meters. QSL via the bureau or direct. Please, no eQSL.

SA-050. Oscar, LU1XS, has received authorizations by the Chilean government to go Navarino Islands between December 8-10th. He will sign CE8/LU1XS and be active on 40/20/15/10 meters CW. QSL via LU1XS or LoTW.

J7, DOMINICA
John, K3TEJ, will be active as J79Z from November 22-29th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters including the WARC bands and as a Single-Op/All-Band entry in the CQWW CW Contest (November 25-26th). QSL via K3TEJ.

KH8, AMERICAN SAMOA
Look for KH8Q to be active starting December 1st, and finishing on December 14th. The operators are Pete/N0FW, Jay/K4ZLE, Charlie/W6KK and Mike/N9NS. They will be active on 160-10 meters, CW and SSB, including efforts in the ARRL 160m and 10m Contests. QSL via W8QID only. If you use the KH8Q mailing address your card could be delayed as long as forever!

LX, LUXEMBOURG

NOT THE QSL MANAGER. Doug, W9WI, reports in the last few weeks he has received via the bureau two cards for J79WI, specifying "via W9WI". Doug states, "I am NOT the manager for J79WI. In fact, I am not the QSL Manager for *anyone* (except myself!) and the only two countries I've ever operated from are the USA and Canada." The correct QSL route for J79WI is via WI9WI.

MIS-INFORMATION ON VK9CGG QSLING. Charlie, W0YG, reports, "I have seen many spots on DX Summit that state N0KV for bureau cards. There are no bureau cards for this operation. We will not use one. All cards go direct only to W0YG."

RK0, ASIATIC RUSSIA

SPECIAL EVENT
The International Shortwave League (ISWL) continues to celebrate their 60th Diamond Anniversary. Look for GB6SWL to be active from Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, November 25-26th. UA9, ASIATIC RUSSIA
Vladimir, UA9BA, will be active as UA9AYA during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (40m) entry. QSL via UA9BA.

VP2V, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

VP5, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS (NA-002)
Look for Kelly, N0VD, to be operating from here December 2-12th, with an entry in the ARRL 10m Contest as VP5D. Before and after the contest, Kelly will be signing VP5/N0VD with a concentration on the lower bands. A special effort will also be made to activate various digital modes on all bands outside of the 10m contest. QSL both VP5D and VP5/N0VD direct, via the bureau or LoTW.

VR2, HONG KONG
Martin, AA1ON, will be active as VR2/AA1ON during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Single-Op/Low-Power entry. Look for him on 20/15/10 meters. QSL via AA1ON, direct or by the bureau.

VU7LD DXPEDITION, LAKSHADWEEP ISLAND UPDATE
Gopal, VU2GMN, on November 18th reports (in VU7LD PRESS RELEASE # 5): "All heavy equipment and supplies were loaded onto MSV Abbas from Mangalore and has sailed this morning to Kavaratti. Pictures of the boat that is carrying the stuff being loaded and sailing away are on our newly introduced photo gallery on the webpage

We are very happy to have received confirmation of support from NCDXF. Their logo is now on our webpage. This will go a long way for our operation. Our thanks to the NCDXF and others who are supporting us.

Tickets on the ship to Lakshadweep are very difficult now as it is the Hajj season and Hajj travelers get priority. However tickets are in hand for the first batch of operators and the setup team and they leave by the MV Bharat Seema which departs from Kochi port on the 29th November AM. It will reach Kavaratti on the 30th morning giving just a day to get all stations QRV. The second batch will leave around the 12th December, the exact date depending on the ship sailing schedule and a third batch around the 22nd December 2006. Stay tuned... 73, de Gopal, VU2GMN"

VU7RG DXPEDITION/HAMFEST, LAKSHADWEEP ISLAND UPDATE
Mohan, VU2MYH, reports on November 22nd: "We are pleased to inform that the Ministry of Communic- ations and Information Technology, Department of Telecommunications, WPC wing has released the first list of Special permission issued to foreign hams holding Indian amateur radio license to operate amateur radio stations from Bangaram, Kadmat and Agathi in Lakshadweep Islands.

VU7RG - The special callsign for hams participating in Hamfest. Amateur Radio Operations will start on January 15th, 2007. Until today a total of 33 DX Hams have been officially approved for the VU7RG operation!"

XT2, BURKINA FASO (Update)
The Provins ARS (F6KOP) announced their next DXpedition will be to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and will be active as XT2C between January 6-20th (See OPDX.780 and OPDX.783). The F6KOP group announced this past week that their XT2C Web page is up and running at:

YI, IRAQ
Bob, N2OO, informs OPDX that his friend Mitch Gill, K7TUT, who is serving in Iraq, has finally received his license after a very long wait. Mitch will be signing YI9TU and will be operating out of Tallil AB, Iraq, just outside of UR, location of the Ziggurat of UR and birthplace of Abraham whose home is there as well.

Look for him to be on 40/20/17/10 meters, SSB, CW and PSK31 to start. His hours will be sporadic between 1500-1800z (because he gets no days off). Also, look on Sundays between 0400-0600z. Mitch will be on R&R in the states from approximately between December 13-30th. He will be back on the air between January and February until he is moved into Tent City as he prepares to come home sometime in March. ALL QSLs go to N2OO. Mitch states, "... be patient with me as I am a rookie at being a DX station ,but I want to give out as many QSOs as possible."

ZF, CAYMAN ISLANDS
