3B7, ST. BRANDON
The 3B7C team went QRT on September 25th around 0331z. The operation netted 135,500 QSOs. The QSO total makes this expedition 3rd only to D68C and 3B9C. From the latest press release, the breakdown by bands and modes are as follows:

3C, EQUATORIAL GUINEA
Elmo, EA5BYP, announces that a DXpedition to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (Bioko Island AF-010) will take place between October 5-14th. Operators will be Fred/KH7Y, Luis/EA5BRE, Vic/EA5YN and Elmo/EA5BYP. The team will operate with two stations and will sign 3C7Y for 10 days. Activity will be on all bands and modes SSB, CW and RTTY. 3D2/R, ROTUMA (OC-060)
Tony, FO5RK, reports that his planned DXpedition to Rotuma as 3D2AG/P is on schedule. His operation will take place between December 2007 and January 2008. Actual dates will be announced later. Tony will be managing his own QSL requests upon his return home. QSL only direct and please include either 2 USDs or 1 IRC with a SAE for your QSL card. The QSL cards are being printed by UX5UO and the DXpedition is being sponsored by SPIDERBEAM. Upon Tony's return home, he will have his log available online at:

4L, GEORGIA
Operator Gia, 4L4WW, will be active during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (80m)/ High-Power entry. He expects to use a 3 element Yagi and inverted V during the contest. QSL via EA7FTR.

4O, MONTENEGRO
Look for Montenegro to be active during the CQ World Wide RTTY DX Contest on September 29th and 30th as 4O3A. Ranko Boca will air 4O3A from his Montenegrin Premium Contest Resort. He'll be hosting a young team of operators from Slovenia and Italy who will be operating in the Multi-Multi category with multiple stacks and testing a new radio room layout before the SSB and CW versions of the CQ WW. Operators include S50XX, S50YL, S52X, S55O, S57MM, IV3YWT, IV3TMV, 4O3NET, 4O4A, 4O3A, 4O3Z, YU1YV and possibly S51TA. The station now has two new rotary towers as well as a two element yagi on 80 meters. This is just one of many contest activities being organized by Ranko and the SKY Contest Club. The RTTY contest will focus on supporting young contesters and giving opportunities to local youngsters to learn and feel what contesting is all about. Ranko is in the process of fully automating the station and is planning to organize a contest school for youngsters all over the world. For all who need QSL cards from 4O3A - good news. QSLs from past contest operations from 2007 will be sent via the bureau this month and logs will be uploaded on LoTW. In the future all QSL cards will be sent via the bureau twice a year as well as being uploaded to LoTW.

4X, ISRAEL
Operators Paul/4X6UU and Isaac/4Z4TL will be active as 4X2Z during the CQ World Wide DX RTTY Contest (September 29-30th) as a Multi- Single entry. QSL via 4X6UU. Activity will be from the Mikve Israel Agricultural School club station.

6Y, JAMAICA
John, W2GB, will be active as 6Y0B from October 23-30th. He will also be active during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Single-Op entry. QSL via W2GB.

7Q, MALAWI
Ely, IN3VZE, informs OPDX that he will be active "Holiday Style" from the southwest shore of Lake Malawi between October 4-25th. His callsign will be 7Q7CE, and he will be on all bands. 8P, BARBADOS
Dean, 8P6SH, will be active as 8P2K during the CQ World Wide DX RTTY Contest (September 29-30th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m) entry. QSL via KU9C.

9K, KUWAIT

9M6, EAST MALAYSIA

9U, BURUNDI
By the time you read this, Sigi, DL7DF, and his team of operators should be active as 9U0A. Operators mentioned are: Manfred/ DK1BT, Wolf/DL4WK, Sigi/DL7DF and XYL Sabine, Jan/DL7UFN, Frank/DL7UFR and Leszek/SP3DOI. Activity should last until October 9th. Operations will be on 160-6 meters on CW and SSB. One station will be exclusive on RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV. There will be a special emphasis on the lower bands and digital modes. A5, BHUTAN
Ed, N1UR, is expected to be active from Bhutan as A52UR between September 28th and October 2nd. Activity will be on all bands CW/SSB. QSL via K2RET.

AH6, HAWAII
Members of the new formed "Coconut Wireless Contest Club" will be active as AH6XX in CQ's World Wide DX SSB and CW Contests this October and November. Operators for the phone contest will be John/K1ER, Rich/K2WR, Tetsuo/AH7C and Kan/JA1BK (KH6BK). Operators for the CW Contest will be Tetsuo/AH7C and Kan/JA1BK (KH6BK).

C9, MOZAMBIQUE (Update/Date Change)
Wayne, W5KDJ, will be going back to Africa in November. He will be active as C91KDJ, November 15-28th. Wayne will concentrate on CW and possibly some RTTY. His plans are to be active in the CQWW DX CW Contest. His QTH will be about 50 kilometers north of Maputo. Grid Square: KG64ik. CU2, AZORES
Operator Toni, OH2UA, will be active as CU2A during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High- Power entry. QSL via OH2BH.

EA6, BALEARIC ISLANDS
Javi, LU5FF, will be active as EA6/LU5FF from Can Picafort, Mallorca (EU-004), between now and November 16th. Activity will be on 30/20/17/15/12/10 meters using CW and SSB.

EY8, TAJIKISTAN
Nodir, EY8MM, will be active during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (possibly 160m or 80m)/High-Power entry, and the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 24-25th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (160m)/High-Power entry. FM, MARTINIQUE (NA-107)
Philippe (ex-F8EFU) has received a work assignment to Martinique (DIFO FM-001) and has been issued the callsign FM5LD. It is not clear on the length of his stay, but he operates mainly CW on 30m with a barefoot 50w rig into a wire which is expected to be replaced as soon as possible by a new antenna suitable for DX. Read the QSL information on (QRZ.com) or the Online REF-Union callbook.

H40, TEMOTU PROVINCE
"The Daily DX" reports that operators Mike/KM9D and Jan/KF4TUG are now heading to Tikopia Island (OC-178) and plan to be active as H40MY (possibly in the next few days). Details on their estimated time of arrival, length of stay and operating plans are unknown at this time.

HR, HONDURAS
Dan, HR2DMR, is expected to be active in the CQ WW RTTY Contest (September 29-30th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m)/Low-Power entry.

HR, HONDURAS
Alex, K2BB, will be active as HR2/K2BB during the CQWW DX RTTY Contest (September 29-30th). QSL via home call.

HV50/HV6SP, VATICAN
Look for two new callsigns to be activated soon from the Vatican. The first one is scheduled to hit the airwaves on September 27th. The callsign HV50VR (Vatican Radio) will be activated to mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Vatican’s Santa Maria di Galeria broadcasting site. HV50VR will also be participating in upcoming contests. QSL direct via IW0GPN. There is a possibility of LoTW uploads. IK0FVC has been authorized to use this callsign. Also, look out for HV6SP. Further details are to follow for this, but QSL via IK0FVC.

AS-047. Look for JH0IEW/6 to be active from Daito Island between September 28th and October 9th. He will activate two different islands.

EU-045. Members of the ARI Velletri will be active as IB0/IQ0VL from Ventotene Island (IIA LT-011, MIA MI-118, WLOTA LH-1403) between now and October 1st. Activity will be on 40-10 meters, CW, SSB, PSK31 and FM, as well as on the VHF and UHF bands. Operators mentioned are IK0ADY, IK0JBF, IK0OXK, IK0UUM, IK0WHN and IZ0ENB. QSL via IK0WHN, direct or by IQ0VL via the bureau.

EU-137. (UPDATE) A group of Swedish and German operators will be active from Ven Island from October 7-13th. Activity will be on CW, SSB and RTTY. The team plans on using high power for this operation. They will be close to the Hakens Fyr Lighthouse (ARLHS SWE-168). At the moment the team consists of:

J3, GRENADA
A team of stateside operators will activate Grenada from late October 24th to October 31st. The contest station J3A (QSL via WA1S) will be active as a Multi-Multi entry in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th). Team members are WC4D, N7AZ, KI4QCS, K1EP, KA7KUZ, K0RH, W8CAA, WA8LOW, N0RB, W8KKF, W8GEX and AC8G. For outside the contest, with the exception of W8GEX and AC8G, the team members have been assigned HOMECALL/J3. W8GEX will be J3K and AC8G will be J37K. QSL each to their home callsign or as announced. Expect various other modes outside the contest and operations on the 30/17/12m bands as well as 60 and 6 meters. The team has arranged for antenna and power improvements especially on 80 and 160 previously weak links.

J4, CRETE
Uli, DJ9XB, will be active as J49XB in the CQWW RTTY Contest (September 29-30th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (15m) entry. He states, "Before and after the contest, I will try to be on 160m in RTTY."

J5, GUINEA BISSAU
The "F6KOP TEAM" is planning a DXpedition to Guinea Bissau (possibly to Bubaque Island - AF-020) between January 10-21st (2008). Their callsign will be J5C. Operators mentioned are: F4AJQ (leader), F6AML (Logistic), F5JSD, F5VHQ, F5TVG, F5PED, F4TTR, F8BUI, F8BJI, F2JD, F2VX, F9IE, N2WB, N6OX and OE8KDK. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, SSB, CW, Digital modes, SSTV and FM. They plan to have 5 stations on the air around the clock. They will use IC7000, FT480 and TS857D, with 4 Spiderbeam, 2 verticals and 3 dipoles. They will also have 4 ACOM 1010 amps. QSL via F5TVG, direct or by the bureau.

J6, ST. LUCIA
Operators Babs/DL7AFS and Lot/DJ7ZG will be active as J6/DL7AFS between now and October 11th. They will later be joined by a 3rd operator, Ju/DL2ZAE. They plan to have three stations active simultaneously on 160-10 meters on CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK. Visit their Web page at:

K0, UNITED STATES
Bob, K0RC, will be active in the CQWW DX RTTY Contest (September 29-30th) using the special event callsign K0D. The special event is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the immigration by Johann Czudek to the United State of America. More details are available on (QRZ.com). Bob will be operating from his home QTH in Chisago County, Minnesota.

NP2, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Operators John/NP2B, Bruce/W4OV, Julio/WD4R, Esteban/W4DTA, Frederick/K9VV and Lisa/W4LIS will be active as NP2B during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Multi-? entry.

OF, FINLAND
Members of the SES will be active as OF2AG during the CQ WW RTTY DX Contest (September 29-30th) as a Multi-Op entry. Operators mentioned are OH2GI, OH2LU, OH2MZB and OH6XY. Activity is to celebrate the 90th anniversary of their country. All contacts will be confirmed automatically by the bureau.

OH0, ALAND ISLAND
Operator Ari, OH5DX, will be active as OH0Z during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as Single-Op/Single- Band (??) entry. QSL via W0MM.

P29, PAPUA NEW GUINEA (Updates/New IOTAs)
Operators Luis/CT1AGF, Derek/ G3KHZ, Steve/G4EDG and Hans/SM6CVX together with two non-ham friends made it to Nukumanu Island (OC-284p). They are active as P29VCX from Nukumanu. The plan is then to sail to Takuu Island (OC-283p) and operate using the callsign P29NI for 6 days starting about September 30th. Finally, if time permits, they will sail to Kilinalau Island (OC-256, aka Tulun Islands) and operate from there for a few days, possibly as P29VLR, between October 6-9th before returning to Buka. The dates may vary a little depending on the local weather.

They expect to operate on all bands, including 160 and 80 meters with possibly 3-4 stations, two amplifiers, verticals and a multiband dipole. Their plan is to run 4 stations simultaneously from 2 sites on each island. This should allow simultaneous operation from two stations on the same band using different modes. Two stations will use 500w linears and two stations will use 100w. QSL P29NI via G3KHZ. QSL P29VCX and the Kilinalau Island operation via SM6CVX. SPECIAL EVENT

This operation coincides with the National Wildlife Refuge Week and is in support of the KP1-5 Project and our national wildlife refuge system. The callsign for the operation will be W5NWR, W5-National Wildlife Refuge. Look for W5NWR on SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK on frequencies of opportunity. T6, AFGHANISTAN
Ross, ex-VK1UN/VK8UN, 4W6UN and EX1UN, has been active as T61AA from Faizabad. The length of his stay is unknown. He usually can be found after 1200z on 20 meters but has also been on 17 meters after 0500z or 1330z. He is using an IC-7000, with a Tokyo Hi-Power HL-1.5KFx amp, Palstar AT-AUTO tuner into a Cushcraft R6000 vertical. He also has a Double Extended Zepp. Ross hopes to have a 2 element 20m Moxon on an 8 element 6m beam shortly. The old YA prefix is no longer in use, so T6 is now the official prefix of Afghanistan. T6, AFGHANISTAN
John, KE6GFF, will once again operate as T6EE from Kabul between October 18th and November 12th. It is suggested to look for him on SSB on or about 14210 kHz. QSL via his home callsign: John Kountz, 1065 van Dyke Dr., Laguna Beach, CA 92651.

T7, SAN MARIO
John, T77CD, will be active in the CQ WW RTTY Contest (September 29-30th). QSL via I0MWI, direct ONLY.

TX5, CLIPPERTON ATOLL (Update)
"The Clipperton 2008 team received their Clipperton Landing Permit from the French Polynesia authorities last week", reports N7CQQ, John Kennon. V2, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA
Operators Jim/WX3B, Brian/N3OC, Tom/NI1N and Robert/W2BZR will be active as V26B during the CQ World Wide DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) as a Multi-2 entry. Listen for QSL details.

VK9W, WILLIS ISLAND
Operators Tomi/HA7RY and George/AA7JV are now active as VK9WWI. They plan to stay (depart) on October 5th. QSL via HA7RY.

VP2E, ANGUILLA
Operators Andy/DL5CW and Marina/DM5YL will be active from Anguilla (IOTA NA-022) between November 8-26th. Activity will include the CQ WW DX CW Contest. Callsigns probably will be VP2EDL and VP2EDM. Their prefered modes are: CW (DL5CW) and RTTY/PSK31 (DM5YL) on the HF bands. QSL via their home callsign, by the bureau or the address on (QRZ.com).

VP8, FALKLAND ISLANDS
Ulli, DL2AH, has added another island to his DXpedition activities. After his Niue Island (ZK2) and Chatham Island (ZL7) operations, look for him to be active from Pebble Island between February 26th and March 13th. He will be active mainly on SSB (with some RTTY) using a FT897 into Windom 40-10m antenna. QSL via DL2AH, direct or by the bureau. ADDED NOTE: Remember, Ulli will also be active from Juan Fernandez (CE0Z) between March 18th and April 7th.

YW3, VENEZUELA
Members of the Radio Club Venezolano announce they will be active as YW3AJ from Portuguesa State from October 11-14th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters, VHF/UHF and all modes. Four stations will be on the air around the clock. GRID FJ59mp. QSL via YV5AJ using QRZ.com address or by the bureau. Operation is good for the D.E.V. (Venezuelan States Award). ZK2, NUIE (Op Cancelled)
Bill, VK4FW, informs OPDX that the upcoming major operation scheduled for Nuie (ZK2) has been cancelled until further notice. He deeply regrets to inform all of you that his loving wife has been very ill for a long time now, and she is suffering with lymphoma cancer. Bill states, "We have a long hard road ahead. I would realize that many of you will be bitterly dissappointed, but rest assured, we will eventually make the journey." OPDX and its readers would like to send out our best and prayers to Bill's wife, and hope that she can fight this battle and recover.
