6O, SOMALIA. Ken, LA7GIA, will once again return to Somalia and be active
as 6O7O in September. His last activity was in January 2018 as 6O6O. He
announced the following on his Web page (https://www.la7gia.com/where-next):
[edited] For a long time I have been planning where to go next. This
time I decided to return to Somalia which I also activated in 2018. I
really look forward to this trip! Planning a trip to Somalia involves
many limitations and challenges wrt obtaining permissions, logistics,
operation as well safety & security wise. I have obtained the license
6O7O, and LoTW is already received by ARRL.
I have a better QTH than last time, this time also with more space for
beverages to NA/EU and Asia. Everything is booked and in place like accomo-
dation, flight etc. I will be operating solo for exactly 14 days on all
bands 160-10m using mainly CW. If possible also digi mode. If someone can
send me an original Elecraft mic I might do some SSB as well...
I will be using my upgraded Elecraft K3, 1 kW amplifier and various
TX/RX antennas.
     160m: toploaded vertical
     80m/40m: fullsize verticals
     30m, 17m, 12m: dipole
     20m, 15m, 10m: My favourite 2 el Mosley beam
RX antennas: 200-230m beverage to NA/EU and asia.
     K9AY loop as backup.
     RemoteQTH.com equipment and controller
QSL via M0OXO. Log will be uploaded to ClubLog. Donations are very much
appreciated to PayPal (kenneth@opskar.no). Anyone donating upfront will
receive direct QSL and express LoTW!

9H, MALTA (Press Release, dated July 18th, by Phil, G3SWH)[edited].

Colin/G3YHV and Paul/M1DSE) will again operate as 9H6YB from Triq San
David, Mtarfa, Malta (IOTA EU-023) during the 2019 RSGB IOTA Contest on
July 27th and 28th.
The log will be uploaded to LoTW and ClubLog after the contest. Paper
QSLs for this activity are only available via G3SWH direct with adequate

NOT be collected or replied to.

CY9C ST. PAUL ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (Press Release dates July 16th).
[edited] In less than two weeks the CY9C DXpedition team will arrive in
Dingwall, Nova Scotia, in preparation for the DXpedtion to St. Paul
Island. The dates for the DXpedition are July 31st-August 8th. All seven
team members are ready with gear packed and weighed to help facilitate
an efficient process of ferrying the gear to the island via helicopter.
The team is not employing a boat for this DXpedition as all operations
will be from the Northeast Island. There are no longer any facilities
for a boat to be able to dock at the Northeast Island with its foreboding
cliffs and sharp rock formations that encompass the island. With that
being the case, extra care must be taken to transport the generators and
fuel by helicopter.
Pat, N2IEN, the helicopter pilot, and helicopter mechanic Barry Smith,
will supervise and oversee the loading of all gear on each flight. An
advance team will fly to the island first in order to erect the operation
tents. While that is taking place, the first of many chopper trips will
commence with all of the other DXpedition gear.
Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we have good VFR flying weather.
On the 2016 CY9C DXpedition we had a number of very stormy days (and fog)
where flights were not possible.
Updates will be provided to the bulletins by Murray/WA4DAN or Randy/N0TG
as well as at (www.cy9c.com).
Phil, VA3QR, will again be giving updates and status reports on his blog
which was very popular in 2016.

SV/A, MOUNT ATHOS (Update). OPDX has been informed that per the DXCC Desk
staff, they do not yet have any documentation from Monk Iakovos, SV2RSG,
that states he is in fact active from Mount Athos. So currently, any
operation by him doesn't count for DXCC. (WFWL)

SV9, CRETE. Thomas, SV2CLJ, will be active as SV9/SV2CLJ from the Island
of Crete (EU-015) between July 23-31st. Activity will be on 80-6 meters
using CW, SSB and FT8. QSL via SV2CLJ direct.

TO9, ST. MARTIN. Operators Marco/FS4WBS, John/K9EL, Paul/K9NU, Gary/N9AOL

PSK modes. When the normal FT8 frequencies are busy, they will operate
Fox/Hound mode on: 3567, 7056, 10131, 14090, 18095, 21091, 24911 and 28091

December 6-8th. QSL via W9ILY, LoTW or ClubLog OQRS. For more details and
updates, see: http://k9el.com/SaintMartin2019/SXM2019.htm

TWO LIGHTHOUSE OPERATIONS (Press Release by Bob, N2OO). The Old Barney
ARC will be operating as W2T from the Tucker’s Island Lighthouse (ARLHS-
USA-911) in the Tuckerton Seaport in NJ on August 3rd in honor of US NLLW
Weekend. This Lighthouse is a replica of the original which fell into the
sea during a storm in 1927. It currently features a museum and is the
focal point of the Tuckerton Seaport. Since this is not on an island, it
does not count for IOTA or USI. Operation is planned mainly on 40 and 20
meters SSB with some CW and FT8 from about 1300–2100 UTC. QSL W2T via N2OO.
The Old Barney ARC will also be operating as N2OB from the Barnegat
Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-039, aka ILLW US0230) in Barnegat Light, NJ (Long
Beach Island IOTA NA-111 & USI NJ-001-S, WWFF KFF-1609) on August 17th
in honor of ILLW (Rain date Aug 18th). Operation is planned mainly on 40
and 20 meters SSB with some CW and FT8 from about 1300–2100 UTC. QSL via
N2OB.

VP6R PITCAIRN ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (Update, dated July 18th). It happened
once again. Unexpected business and time demands pop-up in all our lives.
Jim, N9TK (https://pitcairndx.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/N9TK-1-Jim.jpg),
has had to withdraw from our team. Jim has contributed a great deal to make
this DXpedition happen and we will miss him.
  Hawk, SM5ADQ (https://pitcairndx.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/SM5AQD-PSO-250X300.jpg),
will be taking Jim’s place on the team. Hawk has traveled with us before,
is a well-known DXer and DXpeditioner, and excellent operator. He will
be one more voice and set of ears for Europe. Welcome to the team, Hawk!

XW, LAOS. Simon, HS0ZIB/XZ2A, has announced that in the middle of next
month he will be based in the town of Luang Prabang, in north Laos. He
stated on eHAM.net, "I just got back from a meeting with the Lao licensing
authorities and should pick up my XW license in a week or so. Initially,
I will only operate on 20 meters, primarily using FT8 and SSTV." Stay
tuned for more details.

YJ, VANUATU. Chris, VK2NYA/VK2YUS, will once again be active as YJ0CA
from Port Vila, Efate Island (OC-035), between July 24-31st. Activity
will be on 40/20/15 meters (possibly 10m) SSB only. He also plans to be
