CY0 SABLE ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (TARGET IS OCTOBER 2021). From the Sable
Island DXpedition Web page (https://cy0dxpedition.net/index.html):
As everyone knows, the planned 2020 DXpedition to Sable Island had to
be postponed due to the worldwide Coronavirus. Since that time, we have
been in regular contact with Parks Canada and Sable Aviation.
There are three issues that we are currently dealing with. These include
the Canadian border being reopened, the province of Nova Scotia allowing
US citizens entry and Parks Canada allowing our team onto Sable Island.
These are all issues completely out of our control.
We are cautiously optimistic that our planned October DXpedition will
take place at that time. Still some months away, the Coronavirus will
(hopefully) be under control by that time. Time is on our side in this
aspect!
The Sable Island DXpedition team remains committed and excited about
this opportunity. Planning continues as we receive regular updates. This
is a fluid situation and we will keep everyone updated as we receive
additional information. We would like to thank all of the foundations,
clubs and individuals for their support, understanding and patience.
We appreciate all of the foundations, clubs and individuals who have
contributed funding for our DXpedition.

time permits) on the various HF bands with some focus on the 30/17/12
meters and 160 meters mostly on CW (before and after the contest). His
activity will also include an entry in the upcoming ARRL International
DX CW Contest (February 20-21st) signing as P44W and as a Single-Op/All-
Band entry. QSL via LoTW or N2MM. No bureau cards.

PJ2, CURACAO (Slow Scan Television Certificate). Due to the spread of
COVID-19, this year "Karnaval" has been canceled on the Island of Curaçao.
However, members of the Curaçao Amateur Radio Group (CARG) will celebrate
Curaçao Karnaval 2021 On-The-Air. Look for team PJ2C to be active on SSTV
mode between February 14-19th. Operators mentioned are Carlo/PJ2CF and
Sergio/PJ2SM. The team will be transmitting 10 pictures of the 2020
Curaçao Karnaval. The band they will be using is the 20 meter, and they
plan to send/transmit every 3 minutes a new beautiful picture of Curaçao
Karnaval. If you receive at least 1 picture that's more than 50% clear,
you can apply for the CARG SSTV Online Certificate. To apply for the CARG
SSTV Online Certificate, just send them one of the CARG SSTV Karnaval
pictures you receive, with your name and callsign, in an E-mail to:

PROPAGATION WEBINAR (The Rebirth of HF). A central topic of this pre-
sentation is why much of the rebirth of HF is due to advancements in a
wide range of fields, such as antenna design and digital modulation
schemes, as well as improvements in our understanding of propagation
and how we can adapt to the challenges of propagation at HF. Here is
a link to a 38 minute training video from Rohde and Schwarz on HF
propagation that is exceptionally well done and very understandable.
The title of the Webinar is called "The Rebirth of HF":
