8P, BARBADOS
Yuri, VE3DZ, will continue to be active as 8P9AA until February 22nd. Activity will be on all HF bands using CW, SSB and RTTY. He was active this past weekend during the ARRL DX CW Contest using the callsign 8P3A. QSL both callsigns via his home callsign.

8th AAW
Just a reminder that the 8th "Antarctic Activity Week" (AAW) takes place this week from February 21-27th. Look for several special event stations (some with the AAW suffix) to be active. BV100, TAIWAN
Members of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Centenary Foundation will be activating special event station BV100 during the CQ WW WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th) from Shaio-Liu-Chiu Island (BV9, AS-155) as a Multi-? entry. This special event is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Look for it to be active throughout the year until the end of the year. Members of the UA2 Contest Club will be active as CN2FF during the CQ 160-Meter SSB Contest (February 27-28th) as Multi-Op entry. D4, CAPE VERDE
Massimo, IZ4DPV, will be active as D4C from Vicente Island (AF-086) during the CQ 160m SSB Contest (February 25-27th) as a Single-Op entry. QSL only direct via IZ4DPV or by the Bureau to CT1ESV.

DA2, GERMANY (Special Event)
Martin, IK2RMZ/DL1GBZ , will be in Germany during the last week in February, and is expected to use the special callsign DA2MORSE which is assigned to the FMC (Friends of Samuel Morse Club). He is a FMC member (#853). Martin states that he should be on air on 80m during the evening hours. This special callsign is expected to be activated by several different operators from several different locations throughout 2011. Operators and locations mentioned are:

ED1, SPAIN
A Spanish group from Ponferrada-Leon (Northwest Spain), in the Province of Leon, will use the special callsign ED1L during the CQWW 160M SSB Contest (February 25-27th). QSL via EA1EJ. This group has participated in the past as AO1L during the past two years.

ED9, CEUTA AND MELILLA
A group of Spanish operators will be active as ED9NA during the CQ 160m SSB Contest (February 25-27th). QSL via EA9GW (QRZ.com). Operators mentioned are: Jose/EA9CD, Manuel/EA9BW, Jose/EA9PY, Mariano/EA9LS, Pablo/EA9AZ, Enrique/EA9GW and Pedro/EA9PD.

EL, LIBERIA
The next DXpedition by the I2YSB team will take place from Liberia between March 31st and April 13th. The callsign will be announced at a later date. The team will consists of Silvano/I2YSB, Vinicio/IK2CIO, Angelo/IK2CKR, Marcello/IK2DIA and Stefano/IK2HKT. The pilot station will be Art/IK7JWY. The group plans to use 3 stations for the HF bands and one other for the 50 MHz band (w/beacon and cubical quad antenna). Activity will be on 80-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. GJ, JERSEY

IOTA NEWS
AF-093. Laci, HA0NAR, now active as J5NAR, hopes to activate Guinea- Bissau's Coastal Region Group beginning Monday, February 21st. Watch the IOTA frequencies. Length of stay is not known. QSL via his home callsign (see (QRZ.com) for details).

AS-049. Take, JI3DST, will be active as JI3DST/JI6 from Kuchino-shima, Tokara Archipelago (Kagoshima-Pref; located in JA6 area; takes 20 hours by ship to reach), between March 11-20th. Operations will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB, FM, RTTY and PSK31. QSL JI3DST/JI6 via JI3DST by the Bureau. PLEASE NOTE: His activity will be from two different locations on either side of a volcanic edge to benefit different regions:
     QTH 1 - For NA, SA, JA and other areas on 40-6m, between 2300-0300z and 0400-0600z.
     QTH 2 - For EU, AF, JA and other areas on 160-6m between 0800-2200z.

EU-001. Members of the "DX Plus" Hellenic Amateur Radio Team will be active as SX5F from the Farmakonisi Rocky Islet between May 14-22nd. EU-123. Members of Camb-Hams will be active as GS3PYE/p and GS6PYE/p from the Isle of Arran (IOSA CL01, SCOTIA CS14) between May 1-8th. The group will be renting a cottage on the westside of the island near Balliekine (WW Loc. IO75HO). Operators mentioned are Bob/G1SAA, Terry/G3VFC, Martin/G3ZAY, Colin/G4ERO, Colin/ G8TMV, Mark/M0MJH, Rob/M0VFC, Steve/M1ACB and Gavin/M1BXF. Activity will be on most HF bands using SSB, Digital and some CW. EU-123. Members of the Macclesfield and District Amateur Radio Society will be active the Isle of Arran (IOSA CL01, SCOTIA CS14) between April 2-7th. Callsign was not provided. NA-066. Members of the Palos Verdes ARC will be active as K6PV from Santa Catalina Island (USI CA016S, WLOTA 2912, Los Angeles County, CA) between February 24-27th. Operators mentioned are Ray/N6HE, Jeff/K6JW, Joe/NZ6L and Bob/AB6SY. They will have two stations on the air with simple dipole antennas. Check the usual IOTA frequencies. OC-138. (Update) Craig, VK4LDX, will be active as VK4LDX/P from Horn Island between March 10-14th. Activity was orginally going to be holiday style, but now it is a full time DXpedition. Craig plans to operate 18 hours per day. Operation will start at/around 0800z, March 10th. He will use a 40m dipole, Butternut HF9V vertical and a Spiderbeam 20/15/10m tri-bander. Modes will be on SSB, PSK31 and RTTY (he doesn't do CW). QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau. He does not use eQSL or LoTW.
ADDED NOTE: This IOTA has only been claimed by 19.5% of participants, it was last activated in 2007 for 2 days and prior to that for two days in 2002.

SA-071. Members of the Cantareira DX Group, with support from LABRE-SP, is currently awaiting for the release from the Brazilian Navy to activate stations from Moela Island. The group plans to operate in the South American Lighthouse Weekend (SALW 2011), February 25-27th. The ANATEL (Brazilian Government) has issued the callsign for this operation ­ PR2M.

Operators Don/W5FKX, Jim/N5HZ, Dave/W5XU and Mike/W5ZPA (all members of the Delta DX Association) will be active as PJ2/homecall from the Signal Point Station (PJ2T) on Curacao (SA-099, WLOTA LH-0942) between March 10-17th. Activity will be on all bands, 160-10 meters, depending upon propagation conditions and using all modes (CW, SSB, RTTY/PSK). PJ4, BONAIRE
Bert, CX3AN, will be making a trip to Bonaire (SA-006, WLOTA L1279), hosted by Peter, PJ4NX, between February 20th and March 1st. As of press time, his callsign is unknown and will be announced upon his arrival. Activity will only take place during his spare time. QSL via his home callsign.

PJ7, SINT MAARTEN
Bil/W8EB and his wife Dorothy/W8DVC will once again be here between February 21st and March 19th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31 as PJ7/W8EB and possibly PJ7/W8DVC. Operations will be limited because he is on holiday. Bil will operate in the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) as PJ7B, and as a Single-Op/All-Band/ Low-Power entry.   The Intrepid-DX Group and the DX Friends have assembled an outstanding
team of operators to activate the new country of Southern Sudan to take
place on or after July 9th, 2011.
  The Intrepid-DX Group is the group which brought you the 2010 YI9PSE,
IRAQ DXpedition. The DX Friends have brought you the 2006 S01R DXpedition
to Western Sahara, the 2008 DXpedition to Rwanda as 9X0R, the 2009 DX-
pedition to Western Sahara as S04R, the 2010 DXpedition to Palestine as
E4X and the 2010 DXpedition to San Marino as T70A.
  The DX Friends and The Intrepid-DX Group continue to move forward in
our planning with representatives of the new Southern Sudan Government

SV9, CRETE
Operator Claude/HB9CRX and his XYL Doris will be on holiday in Kissamos between July 11-27th. Claude will sign SV9/HB9CRX and will be active on 30/20/17/15/12/10 meters CW and QRP. QSL via his home callsign when he returns back home.

TJ, CAMEROON (Update)
The international team composed of members of the Provins ARC (F6KOP) are now QRT as TJ9PF from Kribi as of about 1200z, February 20th. The team worked 67611 QSOs with 19383 unique callsigns. V2, ANTIGUA
Operators Babs/DL7AFS and Lot/DJ7ZG will once again be active as V21ZG from Antigua (NA-100) between now and throughout March. Activity will be on 80-6 meters with operations mainly on RTTY, PSK and SSB. They plan to look for JA stations and QRP stations. QSL via DL7AFS.

VK9C, COCOS KEELING ISLANDS (Update/Reminder)
Operators Phil/G3SWH and Jim/G3RTE will be active from West Island in the Cocos (Keeling) Islands between February 22nd and March 5th. The Cocos (Keeling) Islands count as OC-003 for IOTA purposes. The 2010 "Most Wanted" survey by the DX Magazine shows the Cocos (Keeling) Islands at #76 worldwide for DXCC purposes. Both operators will use the single callsign of VK9C/G6AY. Their activity will be on CW only on all bands 80-10 meters. There will be no 160, 6 meters or EME activity. Propagation permitting, they plan to have two stations on the air for as many hours every day as is possible. Their main objective is to work as many European, North American and ROTW stations on as many different bands as possible and plan to make at least 15,000 QSOs.

QSL via G3SWH, either direct with SAE and adequate return postage (recommended), via Phil's web site for a bureau reply or via the Bureau. This will be a very expensive DXpedition. They are happy to meet the costs of transport to and from the islands, but are seeking sponsorship and donations from individuals, DX clubs and organizations towards their living expenses on the island, printing QSLs and the like. VP2M, MONTSERRAT
Philip, WA1ZAM, will be here between March 1-8th. Callsign is not known yet. Activity will be on the HF bands and he plans to be in the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 6-7th). Also, look for possible activity before and after the contest. QSL via his home callsign.

VU4, ANDAMAN ISLANDS (Update)
Members of the Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI) plan to be active as VU4PB from Port Blair, between March 15-31st. Operators mentioned are Ananth/VU2PAI, Aravind/VU2ABS, Basappa/ VU2NXM, Chetan/VU3DMP, Deepak/VU2CDP, Gopal/VU2GMN (Team Leader), Govind/ VU2GGM, Ramesh/VU2LU, Devadas/VU2DH, Krishna/VU2VKU, Prasad/VU2PTT, Ramachandra/VU2RCT, Ramachandra/VU2RCR, Rohit/VU2RDQ, Sanjay/VU2SJD, Suhas/VU2SMN and Vishnumoorthy/VU2MTT. Activity will be on all HF bands using CW, SSB and RTTY; exploring 6m EME operations. They will have 4 stations on the air using the following equipment: Two Kenwood TS-2000, Two ICOM 756 Pro, Elecraft K3, Yaesu FT 847, Kenwood TS-950, Two Spider beams, SteppIR 3-element Yagi, SteppIR Big IR vertical, Wire and vertical antennas for the lower band operations, 18m Spider poles for Low band antennas, Force12 C3S Yagi, Yaesu Quadra VL1000 Amp, Kenwood TL-922 Amp, Yaesu FL2000 Amp, Ameritron ALS-500 Amp and Ameriton AL-811H Amp. XU7, CAMBODIA
Nob, JA1FMZ, will be active once again as XU7FMZ from Cambodia between March 2-28th. This is his 9th trip/visit to Cambodia. Activity will be holiday style on 20-10 meters using only SSB. He plans to be in the ARRL DX SSB Contest (March 5-6th) and the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (??) entry. XU7, CAMBODIA (Also 3W)
Hiroo, JA2EZD, will be active as XU7SSB from Sihanoukville on two separate trips to Cambodia. Look for him this week between February 21-28th and a again between March 8-15th. QSL via his Laos address (see (QRZ.com) info). During his second visit, he is expected to team up with Nob/XU7FMZ and XU7NPC. Activity will probably be on all HF bands. ADDED NOTE: Hiroo, JA2EZD, will also visit Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, in between his two visits to Cambodia between March 1-7th. He plans to be active as 3W6LI on the HF bands.
